About
OUR MISSION
The Kesher Project is a religious non-profit organization that seeks to promote positive Christian engagement with the Jewish community through education on the Jewish foundations of the Christian faith, combating antisemitism, relationship building, community forums, media resources, and study trips to the Holy Land.

Kesher is the Hebrew word for "connect"—and we are committed to helping local churches connect to the Jewish foundations of the Christian faith and to their Jewish friends and neighbors.

There are two core values that drive our mission:

-
Jesus was Jewish—therefore his Jewishness matters to us.
-
Jewish people mattered to Jesus—therefore Jewish people matter to us.

Historically, the Christian community has struggled with both, which is why Philip Yancey wrote in The Jesus I Never Knew...
I can no more understand Jesus apart from his Jewishness than I can understand Gandhi apart from his Indianness. To know Jesus' story I must, in the same way I get to know anyone else's story, learn something of his culture, family, and background.
[Jesus] probably did not spend his life among Jews in the first century merely to save Americans in the twenty-first.

Do you agree?
If so, we would love to serve you and your congregation through any of the programs and projects we offer.
We also have relationships with other like-minded organizations and educators that we can refer you to and an extensive list of relevant resources to help you and your congregation better understand Jesus in his Jewish context and your Jewish friends and neighbors.

To stay connected with us, please sign up for our periodic updates. Your partnership and friendship are much appreciated!
